Convention Summary
The 11th Grand Council Convention of Kappa Psi Fraternity was held in Charleston, South Carolina, November 26-28, 1908. All of the Grand Officers and delegates representing the twelve active chapters were in attendance. Nu Chapter was the host. Two important changes in the constitution were approved, both necessitated by increasing operating expenses: (1) future Grand Council Conventions will be held biennially rather than annually; (2) the Agora was designated the Fraternity's secret publication and it will be published biennially, with supplements published on alternate years. Also approved were the following: (3) the scarlet carnation was designated the fraternity flower; (4) a model set of chapter By-Laws was developed; (5) formal opening and closing ceremonies for meetings were outlined; (6) charters issued to new chapters will be approved by vote of a majority of the Grand Officers and members of the legislative committee rather than a vote by chapters.
