Glen J. Sperandio (Pi)

Past Grand Regent Glen J. Sperandio was born in Illinois and received his early education in the town of Edwardsville. In 1940, he received the degree of Bachelor of Science from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Science. Following graduation, he worked for a time in industry, and during World War II, served for a short time in the United States Coast Guard Reserves. Following the war (1946), he attended Purdue University as a graduate assistant and was awarded the Master of Science degree in 1947. Soon, he was appointed as Instructor in Pharmacy, a position which he held while continuing graduate work. In 1950 Brother Sperandio received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Since that time, he served as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at Purdue. He was a registered pharmacist in Missouri and Indiana, and was co-author of a textbook on compounding. Besides belonging to Kappa Psi, he was a member of numerous other organizations, including Rho Chi Society, Sigma Xi, Phi Lambda Upsilon, the American Pharmaceutical Association, the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the Indiana Pharmaceutical Association, the Indiana Chapter of Hospital Pharmacists, and the B.P.O.E. Brother Sperandio was married and had a son.
